More than five months after Bounces was the first to report that it was the frontrunning candidate, the Women’s Tennis Association has confirmed Charlotte, North Carolina, as the next host of its year-end championships.
In an announcement that was embargoed until Wednesday morning, the WTA confirmed this week that Charlotte will host the elite year-end WTA Finals from 2027 to 2029.
In a conference call with reporters on Tuesday afternoon, WTA chairwoman Valerie Camillo suggested that the three-year deal could be extended.
