Broken News: Why Cameron Norrie Got Asked About Emma Raducanu's Love Life
In the divided Wimbledon press room, there are always different answers to what makes for a good question.
WIMBLEDON, England — With one week of Wimbledon now in the books, there’s a consensus that the defining match of the tournament so far was Emma Raducanu’s third round showdown with top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka on Friday night.
After needing eight set points in the first set, and coming back from 1-4 down in the second, Sabalenka won 7-6(6), 6-4 in two hours to oust the raucously-supported Raducanu.
The primetime match attracted a peak audience of 5 million on the BBC, a nice showcase of the power of women’s tennis that hopefully Amelie Mauresmo can recognize.
On the other end of the spectrum, there’s also consensus that the worst press room moment of Wimbledon so far also happened on Friday evening, and also involved Raducanu.
