PARIS, France — Ever since first breaking the story of 23-time major singles champion Serena Williams planning a comeback last year at Bounces, I’ve done roughly one story each month here with updates on her progress as the comeback comes into further focus.

Serena’s first denial came hours as my first report: “Omg yall I’m NOT coming back. This wildfire is crazy-”

The wildfire, as Serena calls it, has become visible on the near horizon in recent weeks, with folks around Roland Garros smelling the smoke. Now, from everything I’ve heard, the official announcement from Serena herself confirming that she’s coming back is imminent, expected within days—if not hours.

Serena Williams is indeed mapping out a return to tour immediately after the French Open, first on grass and then continuing onto American hard courts.

To read everything I’ve heard about Serena’s plans so far—and comments from lots of players—subscribe and make the jump beyond the Bounces paywall (a good time to do so, especially during this 15 percent off sale!) -Ben
