MELBOURNE, Australia — A week before the expected jubilee of a Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jannik Sinner match-up next Sunday—on track to congregate for a fourth major men’s singles final in a row—there was another high holy day already confirmed for this Sunday at Melbourne Park.

It was a more minor occasion but still something to show up for—like a Palm Sunday before Easter, perhaps.

To the delight of tennis believers everywhere, a fourth installment of last year’s unexpectedly epic rivalry, Learner Tien vs. Daniil Medvedev, was booked for the fourth round of this year’s Australian Open.
