Breaking: ATP Aims to Reduce Doubles on Tour

Proposals to radically reform and reorganize tournaments arrive as men's doubles has become more separate from singles than ever.

WIMBLEDON, England — As doubles becomes an increasingly separate and stagnant product in men’s tennis, Bounces can report that the ATP Tour is planning drastic overhauls to its structures that would further favor singles and disadvantage doubles, a format that has struggled for relevance as it has become nearly exclusively the domain of doubles specialists in recent years.
